What it is

Tesamorelin is a synthetic version of the full 44-amino-acid human growth hormone releasing hormone, modified to survive in circulation far longer than the natural peptide. It has the deepest clinical research base of any GHRH analog, which is why it appears so often as the reference compound in secretagogue work.

Background

Tesamorelin is a growth-hormone-releasing-hormone analog. A pharmaceutical form is FDA-approved under the name Egrifta for one specific indication. The research vial sold here is not that product and is not manufactured to its standard.

How it works

A trans-3-hexenoyl group on the N-terminus of GHRH(1-44) blocks DPP-4 cleavage, so it survives long enough to act at the GHRH receptor while still producing a pulsatile rather than sustained signal.

Why researchers order it

Where CJC-1295 with DAC produces a sustained multi-day elevation, Tesamorelin produces a shorter, more physiological pulse — a genuinely different research question, and the reason both sit in the catalog rather than one replacing the other. It is also studied specifically in visceral adipose tissue models, an effect not shared by the other secretagogues here.

  • GHRH receptor binding and DPP-4 resistance studies
  • Visceral adipose tissue models
  • Reference compound in secretagogue comparison work

Handling and storage

Add 2ml of bacteriostatic water: 5mg/ml on the 10mg vial, 10mg/ml on the 20mg. Swirl gently; this one is more shear-sensitive than most. Store unopened vials at −20°C, protected from light; lyophilised powder is stable for years that way and tolerates shipping at ambient temperature. Solutions prepared for analysis should be held at 2–8°C, protected from light. Repeated freeze–thaw cycles compromise sample integrity.

Stability notes for this sequence

  • Lyophilised powder is stable for years at −20°C in the dark and tolerates days at ambient temperature in transit.

Specification in brief

Tesamorelin is a synthetic peptide with the molecular formula C221H366N72O67S and a molecular weight of 5135.86 g/mol, CAS registry number 218949-48-5. The vial is sealed and lot-numbered, holds lyophilised powder, and is kept at −20°C protected from light until it ships.

Sizes and price

Tesamorelin is sold per vial in 2 sizes: 10mg at $80 and 20mg at $100 (currently out of stock). Any quantity can be ordered from a single vial upward; ten vials make a sealed box. Shipping is a flat $10 within the United States and free on orders of $250 or more.

Questions about Tesamorelin

Is Tesamorelin for human use?

No. Everything Zyrna Research supplies is for laboratory research only. It is not for human or veterinary use, and nothing on this page is a claim of safety or efficacy.

Is there a certificate of analysis for Tesamorelin?

Yes. The manufacturer's certificate for lot CS-te10-0408 is shown on this page and reports 99.676% purity. We do not run our own assays; the figure is the manufacturer's, not independent verification.

What sizes does Tesamorelin come in?

10mg, 20mg. Vials ship in the manufacturer's sealed, lot-numbered packaging; nothing is repackaged or relabelled.

How should Tesamorelin be stored?

Unopened lyophilised vials at −20°C, protected from light. Prepared solutions at 2–8°C. Repeated freeze–thaw cycles compromise sample integrity for analytical work.

How is it shipped?

From Nashville, Monday to Friday, with carrier tracking on every order. Paid orders are handed to the carrier the next business day; domestic transit is typically 2–4 business days. Lyophilised material is shelf-stable in transit and ships at room temperature.

What if a vial arrives damaged?

Photograph it before opening anything else and email orders@zyrnaresearch.com within 72 hours of delivery. We replace it. Opened or unsealed vials cannot be returned, because storage conditions cannot be verified once they leave our control.
