What it is

TB-500 is a synthetic version of the active region of Thymosin β4, a protein present in nearly every human cell and in high concentration in wound fluid and blood platelets. Where BPC-157 is studied for local structural repair, TB-500 is studied for cell mobility — how quickly repair cells can travel to where they are needed.

Background

TB-500 is a synthetic fragment corresponding to the active region of thymosin beta-4, a 43-amino-acid protein found in most human cell types. The fragment, not the full protein, is what research suppliers sell.

How it works

Thymosin β4 is the primary actin-sequestering protein in mammalian cells. TB-500 binds actin and regulates how quickly that cytoskeletal scaffolding assembles and disassembles, which is the single mechanism underneath most observed effects: cell migration, blood-vessel formation and reduced fibrotic deposition.

Why researchers order it

Its low molecular weight relative to the full protein gives it wide distribution in circulation rather than staying local to an injection site — the property that makes it the standard research pair to BPC-157 rather than a substitute for it. Also listed by some suppliers as TP-500; same compound.

Handling and storage

Add 2ml of bacteriostatic water down the vial wall for 5mg/ml. Swirl to dissolve, do not shake. Store unopened vials at −20°C, protected from light; lyophilised powder is stable for years that way and tolerates shipping at ambient temperature. Solutions prepared for analysis should be held at 2–8°C, protected from light. Repeated freeze–thaw cycles compromise sample integrity.

Stability notes for this sequence

  • The sequence contains methionine, which oxidises in solution. Keep reconstituted material out of light and recap the vial promptly.
  • Lyophilised powder is stable for years at −20°C in the dark and tolerates days at ambient temperature in transit.

Specification in brief

TB-500 is a 20-residue peptide with the molecular formula C212H350N56O78S and a molecular weight of 4963.44 g/mol, CAS registry number 77591-33-4. The vial is sealed and lot-numbered, holds lyophilised powder, and is kept at −20°C protected from light until it ships.

Sizes and price

TB-500 is sold per vial in one size: 10mg at $80 (currently out of stock). Any quantity can be ordered from a single vial upward; ten vials make a sealed box. Shipping is a flat $10 within the United States and free on orders of $250 or more.

Questions about TB-500

Is TB-500 for human use?

No. Everything Zyrna Research supplies is for laboratory research only. It is not for human or veterinary use, and nothing on this page is a claim of safety or efficacy.

Is there a certificate of analysis for TB-500?

We forward the manufacturer's certificate for the batch in stock on request. Email before ordering and we will send the current one. We do not run our own assays and we do not publish figures we have not been given.

What sizes does TB-500 come in?

10mg. Vials ship in the manufacturer's sealed, lot-numbered packaging; nothing is repackaged or relabelled.

How should TB-500 be stored?

Unopened lyophilised vials at −20°C, protected from light. Prepared solutions at 2–8°C. Repeated freeze–thaw cycles compromise sample integrity for analytical work.

How is it shipped?

From Nashville, Monday to Friday, with carrier tracking on every order. Paid orders are handed to the carrier the next business day; domestic transit is typically 2–4 business days. Lyophilised material is shelf-stable in transit and ships at room temperature.

What if a vial arrives damaged?

Photograph it before opening anything else and email orders@zyrnaresearch.com within 72 hours of delivery. We replace it. Opened or unsealed vials cannot be returned, because storage conditions cannot be verified once they leave our control.
